ANNA CHUPA

Made from over seventy-five flowers gathered during photographic trips to botanical gardens and nurseries, Floral Rhapsodyis inspired by Dutch Baroque still life paintings. Individual photographs are montaged into one composition then digitally printed. Longarm techniques used include hand-guided outline quilting, with some thread painting. A cordate leaf fill is used in the sage green border. Abstracted maidenhair fill is used in the pink ground. Multiple colors of Trilobal Polyester Glide Thread were selected to match fabric colors of individual flowers and foliage. The quilt is double batted with Quilters Dream wool and blend batting. The cotton sateen quilt top and backing are both digitally printed textiles created from my original photography.
